The original Ward El Cham house in Verdun, Beirut, at night

Our story

A Lebanese story, told one table at a time

From a neighbourhood favourite in Verdun to the shores of Tripoli and the heart of Cairo.

The name

The story of our name

Ward El Cham means “the roses of the Levant”, the fragrant flowers that have perfumed the courtyards of the region for centuries. Our flower, with saffron petals around a crimson heart, carries that spirit to every table.

A verse from our house

بحارة الشام العتيقة،ورد جوري مزهر

ونكهة حلبية،أريجها معطّر

ورد الشام بيحكي،قصة مدينة

امتزج فيها سحر الشرق،باللقمة الكريمة

In the old alleys of the Levant, a rose in full bloom; a flavour of Aleppo, its fragrance perfumed. Ward El Cham tells the story of a city where the magic of the East met the generous bite.

How it began

From Verdun to the Mediterranean and beyond

Ward El Cham, one of Beirut's beloved Lebanese restaurants, first opened its doors in 2014 and quickly became a respected name in Lebanese hospitality, thanks to its authentic dishes and exceptional ambiance.

With that success, the restaurant continued its expansion to the five-star Lancaster Eden Bay hotel, offering a distinctive Lebanese experience with a breathtaking sea view, in harmony with its refined dishes and authentic flavours.

In 2026 the journey continued with our first house in the Libyan market, at the Marina in Tripoli, adding exceptional touches to authentic Lebanese cuisine.

That same year, as part of our expansion strategy, we launched our first café concept, Ward El Cham Café, in the Marina of Tripoli. Guests enjoy an authentic Lebanese atmosphere and dishes with a signature twist, thanks to the chef's inventive recipes and rich flavours.

From the dishes of Lebanon to its drinks, discover the authentic taste of the Ward El Cham group.
